AI SUMMARY โ€” MicroStrategy filed an 8-K on June 1 confirming it sold 32 BTC between May 26-31, 2026, triggering a $189M Polymarket bet that should resolve YES. However, Polymarket allegedly added new resolution criteria on June 1 (after the sale window closed) requiring 'public confirmation within the window,' retroactively disqualifying the sale and causing YES to trade at sub-penny despite the event occurring. The post argues this is fraudulent market manipulation creating a mispriced entry opportunity.

TL;DR: Strategy sold Bitcoin for the first time since 2022. there's a $189M Polymarket bet on exactly that, the YES side is objectively correct, and Polymarket kept the market OPEN, let people pile into YES, and THEN bolted on a brand new rule to weasel it to NO. thats why YES is trading at sub-penny when the event already happened in real life. its a fraudulent discount and its an entry. YES.

ok buckle up.

on June 1, Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy, $MSTR) filed an 8-K admitting it sold 32 BTC for \~$2.5M between May 26 and May 31. first sale since 2022. tiny, 0.0038% of the stack, doesnt matter. what matters is the filing literally timestamps the activity "as of May 31, 2026, 4:00 PM ET." inside the window. in writing. from the company itself.

now the bet. Polymarket has "MicroStrategy sells any Bitcoin by May 31, 2026?" the rule says it resolves YES if they sell by the 31st, and it names MSTR's filings and on-chain data as the resolution source. the 8-K is an MSTR filing. it says they sold in the window. so YES. a literal child could resolve this one.

heres the actual fraud, and pay attention because this is the part that makes it free money.

the 8-K dropped June 1 and Polymarket KEPT THE MARKET OPEN AND TRADING. so traders did the obvious thing and loaded up on YES, because the rules were explicit and the sale was already confirmed in a federal filing. one dude (willo2, the single biggest YES holder on the market) read the 8-K and jammed roughly $500k into YES expecting it to settle at a dollar: https://x.com/willo2\_Poly/status/2061640812132516321

THEN, after people had already bet into an open market, Polymarket quietly added a new line that says basically "if it wasnt publicly confirmed inside the window it doesnt count." that sentence was NOT in the rules when people were putting money down. and its literally stamped "Updated Jun 1" on the market's own page, a full day AFTER the May 31 deadline it supposedly always applied to. go check it yourself.

and heres the part that actually ends the argument: this market doesnt even close on May 31. pull up the page, it settles JULY 1, 2026. May 31 is the deadline for the SALE, not for the market. the entire reason a market like this stays open another month is so the sale can get confirmed and the thing can resolve. the 8-K landed June 1, which is sitting comfortably inside that window. so Polymarket is trying to have it both ways: scream "only what was confirmed by May 31 counts" while running an open, tradeable market all the way to July 1. you dont get to pick both. if the answer really locked on the 31st theyd have frozen the market on the 31st. they didnt, and they CANT, because their own rules keep it open until July 1. and the second they left it open past the 31st, that June 1 confirmation was 100% valid under the actual terms. YES.

so you cannot keep a bet open, take everyone's money, and then change the win condition after the fact because you dont like who's holding the winning ticket. thats not a "clarification." thats fraud, full stop.

so the sub-penny YES price is NOT the market saying "nah they didnt sell." everyone with functioning eyes knows they sold. the price is purely the discount on the risk that Polymarket gets away with the rug. the cheapness exists BECAUSE of the fraud, not because of the facts.

now why i think the rug fails and this is the trade:

this is nearly a $200M mess now and still climbing. that is WAY past "quietly resolve it No on a tuesday and hope nobody notices" territory. and this is already all over the financial press, not just crypto twitter. CoinDesk, The Block, Benzinga, and The Defiant have all run pieces, some with literal "trader loses $500k after Polymarket changed the rules" headlines. you do not get to quietly bury something thats already in the news cycle. at this size one of two things happens:

  1. Polymarket eats the L and corrects it themselves befor
