Ben Black runs the US International Development Finance Corporation under Trump. DFC now has something like $205B of investment capacity and one of their priorities is financing western telecom/AI infrastructure as an alternative to Huawei.
Black is in Finland today and specifically met with Nokia.
Nokia is basically one of the only companies the US can lean on for this stuff. The US doesn’t have its own Nokia/Ericsson equivalent and the US has a strong strategic motive to prop up Nokia to compete with Huawei in Europe.
