AI SUMMARY — ONDS is being added to Russell indexes on Friday (June 26) during a major liquidity event ($12T in assets, $217B in trading expected), while July call options remain cheap relative to potential upside moves. The stock operates in drones, robotics, defense, and AI infrastructure, but main catalyst is index reconstitution timing combined with heavily loaded out-of-the-money call open interest.

ONDS — Russell reconstitution Friday and the July calls look like the market forgot this thing can move

Everyone is chasing the Wendy’s meme because the internet decided to save square burgers, but I think there is a cleaner and much more interesting setup sitting in plain sight: Ondas Holdings, ticker $ONDS.

This is not just another random drone stock with a PowerPoint and vibes. ONDS is sitting in the middle of drones, robotics, counter-UAS, autonomy, defense, critical infrastructure inspection, and AI-enabled data. That alone gives it a meme-capable narrative. But the reason I’m looking at it right now is not just the business story. It’s the timing and the options chain.

ONDS is being added to the Russell indexes, with the 2026 Russell reconstitution taking effect after the market close on Friday, June 26. FTSE Russell has said the newly reconstituted indexes take effect after Friday’s close, and this rebalance is one of the biggest liquidity events of the year. MarketWatch reported that Russell products are tied to roughly $12 trillion in assets and that last year’s June rebalance saw $217.2 billion in trading. That does not mean ONDS automatically moons, but it does mean Friday is not a normal trading day.

Now look at the July calls.

With ONDS trading around $7.70–$7.75, the July 17 chain looks weirdly cheap relative to the setup. The July 17 $8 calls were around $0.58 ask with about 7,904 open interest. The $9 calls were around $0.29 ask with about 9,826 open interest. The $10 calls were around $0.16 ask with about 36,320 open interest. The $11 calls had roughly 24,916 open interest, the $12 calls had roughly 25,152 open interest, and even the $15 calls had roughly 30,205 open interest. That is a lot of upside paper stacked above the current price for a stock that is about to go through an index-liquidity event.

That is what makes this different from the average WSB pump. The market still seems to be treating ONDS like a speculative drone roll-up. But the company is starting to look more like a public-market autonomy, robotics, and defense-infrastructure platform. If traders wake up to that at the same time index flows hit and the July chain is already loaded, things can get stupid quickly.

Nobody should be buying short-dated calls unless they understand they can lose 100%.

But if the Wendy’s trade was about saving a burger chain, this one is about a drone-defense-autonomy stock getting added to Russell while the July options chain is still pricing like nothing can happen.

Not financial advice. High-risk setup. Shares are for adults. July calls are for people who understand they may be donating to market makers.
